Main Training Program

This is the main training program at the Suzuka Circuit Traffic Education Center.

Basic ProgramPractical

Basic Procedures Before Driving (Static Practice)
Basic Procedures Before Driving (Static Practice)
Vehicle inspection, proper driving posture, and awareness of blind spots during boarding and alighting

Driving posture and boarding and alighting are important points that can also help prevent contact accidents.
During the vehicle inspection, we will confirm the inspection method based on the internal checklist if available.

Brake
Brake
Check the changes in braking distance due to speed differences and surface variations, as well as the operation of the ABS.

Check the differences in braking distance at speeds of 40 to 60 km/h on asphalt surfaces, as well as the differences in braking distance between asphalt surfaces and low-friction surfaces (equivalent to snow-covered roads), to raise awareness of driving speed while driving.
You will confirm the effectiveness of the ABS and the limits of avoidance through emergency braking.

How to Maintain a Safe Following Distance (Safety Space Verification)
How to Maintain a Safe Following Distance (Safety Space Verification)
Confirm the necessity of a safe space (such as appropriate following distance) and gentle braking to prevent rear-end collisions.

We will confirm the safe space (following distance) and safe driving speed to prevent rear-end collisions, being rear-ended, and intersection accidents by performing emergency braking in response to simulated sudden lane changes.

Accident Prevention Training (Including Back Parking)
Accident Prevention Training (Including Back Parking)
Organizing the blind spots of vehicles, vehicle awareness, trajectory awareness, and the weaknesses of drivers that can lead to contact accidents.

Preventing contact accidents involves understanding the "tips" that do not rely on experience or intuition.
We will also confirm the effectiveness of "guidance by passengers" in preventing contact accidents.
Learn key points for instructing junior colleagues or subordinates who are inexperienced in driving.

Handling
Handling
Drive on a course with continuous curves, checking acceleration, deceleration, steering, and vehicle feel.

You will practice appropriate acceleration, deceleration, and steering techniques while driving on a course with continuous S-curves and chicanes.
In the second half, we will increase the pace to induce mistakes and help understand the dangers of a "hurry mentality."

Skid Driving
Skid Driving
Experience car sliding on slippery surfaces and confirm driving techniques to avoid sliding.

Experience the dangerous behavior of a car when driving on slippery surfaces and engaging in "speeding" or "rough driving maneuvers."
In addition, you will understand the "calm driving" required for operating company vehicles.

Driving Habit Check
Driving Habit Check
Use vehicles equipped with a driving evaluation system to check your own driving

By identifying the weaknesses in your driving, you can also confirm the discrepancies between self-evaluation and objective evaluation by the system, become aware of your own challenges, and lead to improvements in your driving behavior.

Distraction Awareness Verification
Distraction Awareness Verification
Check how thoughts while driving affect driving.

You will drive on a course with specified speeds and pauses, and check the differences in driving behavior between "when focusing on driving" and "when driving while thinking about other things."

Nighttime Verification
Nighttime Verification
Examine the differences in visibility, which is the main feature at night, and the patterns of nighttime accidents.

We will also check the changes in traffic conditions and visibility at night, as well as the differences in weather using rain devices.
We will confirm the precautions for night driving for employees who drive at night.

Basic ProgramLecture Exercise

Video KYT (Hazard Prediction Training)
Video KYT (Hazard Prediction Training)
Improve the ability to anticipate potential dangers while watching a CG video of dangerous traffic situations.

Enhance your "hazard sensitivity" to anticipate potential dangers that may occur while driving, in order to avoid falling into dangerous situations.
Using the equipment from "Honda Video KYT," we will monitor who felt what kind of danger, where, and how, in order to confirm individual levels of risk sensitivity and improve hazard prediction abilities.

Special programPractical

High-speed driving
High-Speed Braking & High-Speed Evasion
High-Speed Braking & High-Speed Evasion
Experience emergency braking at speeds assumed while driving on the highway

Perform emergency braking (ABS braking) from 100 to 120 km/h using the Racing Course.
We will check the braking distance and vehicle behavior during sudden braking at high speeds.

Main Line Merge
Main Line Merge
Check how to safely merge onto the main line from the emergency parking areas and shoulders of the highway

Check the procedure for merging onto the main line from the non-parking area using the Racing Course.
We will check if we can merge without affecting the high-speed vehicles approaching from behind.

Emergency Driving
Simulated Emergency Driving
Simulated Emergency Driving
Conducting emergency driving role play on a course with intersections and other general vehicles installed

Through simulated emergency driving, we will train on how to communicate with surrounding vehicles and others.
Experience emergency driving in a real vehicle while confirming the risks of special enforcement and how to address them.

Siren Effect Verification
Siren Effect Verification
Check how the siren sounds from the perspective of general vehicles for those in a position to conduct emergency driving.

We will check how the sirens of emergency vehicles sound to regular cars by changing various situations such as air conditioning and car audio.
